A new Dunkin Donuts debuts Monday at 5th and Mill avenues.
To celebrate, store officials say will pay for metered parking!
Dunkin Donuts will put orange meter-hoods and balloons on the meters so drivers know which spots are free.
The free meters will be along Mill Avenue, between University Drive and Rio Salado Parkway in downtown Tempe.
In addition, Tempe Mayor Hugh Hallman was scheduled to attend the grand opening, planning to serve coffee and doughnuts.
At 7:20 p.m., Hallman and other city officials will be on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
We're excited to open our store on Mill Avenue and contribute to what has been named one of the best streets in America," said Bert Hayenga, the franchisee who will operate all East Valley Dunkin' Donuts locations. "We're happy to be able to offer value options for everyone that is feeling the crunch during this time."
The store will be the second Dunkin’ Donuts in Tempe.
